DRY & HEAVY is considered the creme de la creme of Japanese dub reggae. Dub artists are mostly DJs and producers all together, but this band performs live.

In 1991 the band consisted of two members, and their works were backed by many musicians, including two vocalists. The sound is slow, relaxed and complex and the extraordinary voice of their singer, Likkle (a word meaning "small" in Jamaican patois) Mai, seems to wrap you in warm woolen sheets.

In addition to garnering fans in Japan, the band has managed to captivate non-Japanese audiences as well. They have had several releases with European, American and Australian labels as well as overseas tours. Unfortunately, the band has not released anything since 2015; although the members have occasionally collaborated with other artists, the members are mainly working on their solo projects.
