Up-and-coming reggae band Bombafiya, based out of Santa Barbara California, just released their first full-length album Do What makes You Happy! The band consists of lead vocals and guitarist Collin Daniels, secondary singer Benicia Grace, bassist Eddie Koep, drummer Mark Rojas and keyboardist Emmanuel Oliva, all offering a true reggae rock-infused sound! Daniels comments on his musical influences, “My influences root originally from Bob Marley, Jack Johnson, Peter Tosh, Steel Pulse… later I found Cali rock bands, like The Expendables, Rebelution, The Green, Iration, SOJA, Tribal Seeds. And, then other up-and-comers at the time, like New Kingston and Hawaiian bands The Vitals that pushed me towards the new reggae rock movement and wanting to make that brand and style.”

“I’m also pretty heavy rooted in rock and roll,” Daniels continues. “For starters, classic rock like Crosby Stills Nash, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, Blue Öyster Cult, Creedence Clearwater Revival. And, then 90s music — Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam… Love all that stuff, but don’t see there is much of a scene for it nowadays. So, I decided to combine my favorite genres and play rock-influenced reggae music, which mainly was inspired by the current bands in reggae rock scene as I mentioned earlier. It all plays a roll.”
Bombifya’s 12-track debut is one of reggae consciousness, wrapped in uplifting horns and dub vibes. From “The Light” at the top of the album, all the way to the ending track “There With You”, Bombfiya is here to help you fight negativity. They “Believe in the Music” — that sweet, “Sweet Reggae”.
