Con este trabajo, Alberto D’Ascola regresa a las raíces que prendieron su fuego creativo, combinando géneros como el lovers rock o el roots reggae, sin abandonar los ritmos militantes y los detalles dub, marca de la casa. A su vez, Nine Mile refleja sonidos de otras culturas que el artista siciliano ha ido absorbiendo a lo largo de los años en las distintas giras internacionales, como por ejemplo la bossa nova brasileña.

En cuanto a la profundidad lírica, el álbum aborda las temáticas habituales que caracterizan al artista —como el deseo, el desamor, la frustración social— pero, si cabe, dedica una mayor atención a los héroes musicales de la cultura musical jamaicana. (Source - DoTheReggae)

The Nine Mile section in the parish of Saint Ann, is the birth and resting place of reggae legend Bob Marley. The mausoleum that houses his remains is a major pilgrimage site for fans from all over the world. Nine Mile is often associated with Rastafarian culture, which deeply influences reggae music. The community reflects the slower pace of life, deep connection to nature, and Afrocentric spiritual ethos that underpins roots reggae. This inspired the latest album from Alborosie, which includes his personal tribute "Trench Town Legend."
"Come My Way," the first single from the album is a reworking of "King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown," another hallmark of Roots Reggae and Dub.
