Producer Ben McKone has reconstructed Hollie Cook’s fifth studio album, Shy Girl, into a dedicated dubwise release. Utilizing analogue mixing consoles and live improvisation, McKone transformed the original recordings into atmospheric, bass-heavy compositions defined by vintage echoes and tape delays. The project seamlessly blends lovers rock aesthetics with traditional 1960s dub reggae techniques. A strong emphasis was placed on sonic authenticity, with the final mastering conducted from magnetic tape. This meticulous approach grants the album a timeless quality, making it equally suited for historical "Blues parties" and contemporary sound system sessions.
